Toward a Cervical Cancer-Free Future: The Final Push

A High-Level Diplomatic Dialogue

Toward a Cervical Cancer-Free Future: The Final Push

Start Date: 13 March 2026

End Date: 13 March 2026

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer. Yet it continues to claim the lives of hundreds of thousands of women each year, disproportionately affecting women in low- and middle-income countries. According to the latest global estimates from the WHO, in 2022, approximately 660,000 new cases and around 350,000 deaths were recorded, which reflects a persistent gap in access to prevention, early detection, and treatment.

Every woman and girl should benefit from HPV vaccination, high-quality screening, and timely treatment. Yet deep gaps in financing, health system capacity, and global coordination continue to slow progress toward elimination.

The Permanent Missions of Guyana, Barbados, Malawi, and Germany in Geneva, in collaboration with the Global Centre for Health Diplomacy and Inclusion (CeHDI), are convening a high-level diplomatic dialogue bringing together Ambassadors, Permanent Representatives, senior diplomats, and global health leaders to examine the diplomatic, political, and strategic pathways required to accelerate global progress toward cervical cancer elimination and advance global health equity.

This dialogue will focus on how health diplomacy can mobilize political leadership, strengthen partnerships, and drive coordinated action to close implementation gaps and accelerate progress toward a cervical cancer-free future.
